general While building a post, make a page! Jun 8, 2026

The sky is the limit, posts are just the beginning of what makes a website great.

While you are creating a post now in J7, simply delete the category and it automatically creates a page. This will also manage the slug removing the category parent child relationship. This also removes it from your recent posts, it won’t show up on your subdomain as a recent post, and is publicly accessible to others. It can be edited at the same time with other people using the edit link and can be split test with various heat maps per device size.

Pages, and posts included also now have the ability to track a conversion across the split test. Think A, B, C... all the same slug and randomized amongst visits to help understand what page is best conversion. This can be great for improving your landing pages in a simplistic manner.

j7.is is many cool apps in one

Usually what I'm suggesting is spread across 4 applications, and in j7.is it's all happening at once. Think about it. Heat mapping, contact application, where the lead goes, split testing,.. in j7.is you can do all of that in once place. Also, split testing lets you randomize and auto choose what works best and converts better. Something to think about before releasing your next piece.

changelog Posts that play Jun 7, 2026

Some posts deserve a soundtrack. You can now drop a track straight into the body of a post. Also, every subdomain has the ability to have its own play list of 5 tracks. 25mbs or less, sorry dj mix will need to wait. Convert your wav to mp3 and release. The best sound cloud and MySpace alternative available.

The music block

Add + Music in the editor and pick from your playlist — the same tracks that ride along in your footer banner, no re-uploading. They render as an inline player right where you place them, with unlimited possibility ahead of us.

Good for a release note with a theme, a review with the actual song attached, or a post that's really just a vibe. The ux on mobile is also easy, fire. 🔥

Press play

That's two off the current playlist. Add your own in Studio → Music, then sprinkle them through your posts.

changelog Catch every lead Jun 7, 2026

Reading is good. A reply is better. Posts can now ask for something back — an email, a few form fields, a yes — and everything you collect lands in one place.

The CTA block

In the editor, hit + CTA / form. Choose email capture for a clean subscribe box, or custom form to ask for a name, a message, a phone number, or pick-one choices. Write your own heading, button text and thank-you, and style it as a card, a full-width banner, or plain.

A CTA can even be the whole post — a landing page with nothing but the ask. And because category, tags and slug stay global across a split test, you can A/B/C the pitch without ever splitting your SEO.

Your inbox, top-right

Every capture shows up in the inbox in the top-right corner — with an unread badge so you notice. Each lead is tagged with the split-test arm and screen size that produced it, so you can see which version of the page earned it. Archive the ones you've handled.

Try it — this is the feature

The box below is a real CTA block, built with exactly what's described above. Drop your email in and it lands in my inbox, tagged to this post.

changelog Decide what counts as a win Jun 7, 2026

Split tests on j7 used to rank on a blended engagement score — clicks, reads, dwell and repeat visits, all mixed together. Useful, but it assumed everyone is chasing the same thing. Now you tell j7 what winning means, and it ranks on that.

Four goals, your call

Open any page's analytics and you'll find a ranking by picker with four options: Engagement (the old blend), Reached end (how many people make it to the bottom), CTA clicks, and Leads captured. Pick the one that matches what the page is actually for.

Autopilot serves the winner of your goal

Flip autopilot on and j7 stops splitting traffic evenly and starts serving the confident winner to everyone — measured by the goal you chose. Optimize for leads, and the variant that captures the most emails becomes the one new visitors see.

Still honest about confidence

A winner is only suggested once every arm clears a minimum sample, and j7 tells you how sure it is — early, leaning, or a strong signal. No declaring victory on three clicks.

Same split-testing engine you already had — now pointed at the outcome you actually care about.
